This clip features Hassaan Mackey freestyling over beats from Woody of The Goonies live from Thievin’ Stephen’s “ON THE CUT: Stencil Art meets Turntablism.” Curated by Stephen Dorobiala, ON THE CUT was an art gallery opening on April 2, 2010 at Fourwalls Art Gallery in Rochester, NY, which featured The NYAC Crew DJs and artwork from the following artists: Stephen Dorobiala (Thievin’ Stephen); The Sweet Meat Co. (MR. PRVRT, Sarah Rutherford, and St. Monci); Crook (FUA); Downer; Biles; Jeff Copp; Kurt Ketchum; and The NGB.
Thievin’ Stephen is a Rochester, NY based stencil artist and hip hop producer who can be found late spring on Homeboy Sandman’s “The Good Sun,” and DJ Tim Tones’ “Genesee Life.”

Dope video, but it doesn’t even show just how crazy that show was. Hassaan killed the mic as usual,Thievin’ Stephen and the rest of the artists made sure that gallery looked tight. Watch out, the ROC city making moves.

Freestyle was bananas! This was a REAL freestyle not a verse spit over someone’s track. The word has been overused like swagger and all this other nonsense. Thanks for taking it back to the essence and displacing MCin!
