Jay Electronica is on an entire different level.
    Arguably, the future of hip-hop.
Personally, I would like to see Jay collaborate with Flying Lotus.
    That shit would be fire!

    “Hagler” is ridiculous Keeper!

“anakin’s prayer” is ill. i’m not a star wars fan, but the track is a thumper & the concept is highly original & dope.

mr. porter’s a dope producer, but the vocal sample on “hagler” detracts from the verse. jay kills the verse. this would be a certified heater to me if there was less of that sample in my ear.

the beat on “not too far from nothing” is too monotonous & repetitious to me. i dig the mood of the track, but i think jay’s verse needs something with a little more flavor to make this a keeper. obviously this is a rough mix, but i really had to strain to hear the vocals.

my fav would have to be hagler the other two are good but if he is trying to reach the kanye market which it looks like he will be doing with all the buzz for the last years, i don’t know if the masses will accept the mad max atmosphere of those tracks (remember people didnt get company flow when they first came out). i personally would like to know the movie anniken’s prayer comens from?????? anyone know.

oh and p.s. its good to finally hear actual tracks from this guy seeing as how VIDEOKING doesn’t do mixtapes (saturation please stop and put more work into making good albums). lets hope all the hype will make for something to look foward to.

    dump em…

after hearing transformations, the pledge, extra extra, these tracks don’t seem that great. GOOD, but not great.

    peace.

  • Deestro says:

I’m really feel the Hagler song that shit is Hot For Real. Annakin’s Prayer: we could do without or try reworking it. Not Too Far From Nothing: It OK!! But that Hagler Shit FIRE. Thats a Head Bobbin Song

  • Minus says:

Not too much I can say cause things ain’t finish. There’s direction so I guess that’s a good thing. I’d bump or dump depending on the finishing touches.

  • B says:

Annakins Prayer is awesome. Some of my friends say you comin too slow. I told em you’re apathetic like anakin. I love it man. Hagler is awesome too.

    Keep it up man.

the clarity and precision lies in Annakins Prayer. this is a wonderful composition that allows the old heads who was listening to you remember you, while pointing us forward to a new frontier . it is a masterful sound that encompasses a journey be it conscious or unconscious (but we know which one to chose) of our experience. it propels us into places that we are forgotten or erased i.e. science fiction. now we are making our way through rux, ladd, ra(may peace be upon him),delany and butler to name a few. the unknown universe a place where black souls exist and wait for the right time to appear. in this, we and our ancestors live on creating and improvising the galaxy.
