so many rap rules that don’t make sense? sorry, but its not a rule, its a simple reality: a freestyle by definition is supposed to be a spontaneous flow off the top of the dome. this is my first time seeing this Drake footage, and all i can say is this is ridiculous. i got no problems with people reciting rhymes, but let’s just confuse it with freestyling because they are two completely distinct exercises.
personally, i think it requires a whole lot more skill and talent to generate spontaneous and intellectually coherent wordplay than to read or scroll through pre-written material, but hey…that’s just me.
as far as the “If Drake’s wack .. well .. i guess 90% of the game is f’d up” comment; i have to say that i think you’re being too conservative. i’d say about 95% of the game is f’d up. not to say that i personally think Drake is so bad (he’s an entertainer, let him do what he does) but the game BEEN fucked.

also agreed saying this is not a freestyle, but it’s not a big deal to read your own ish, just don’t claim it to be freestyle.
The kid is not an MC, that’s all, he’s a rapper and a decent writer ain’t nothing wrong with that…

it isn’t about the reading of the rhymes… it was the scrolling of the rhymes, the jibber jabber (peace to mr t) and the nervous rock homeboy was doing the entire time.
i’ve yet been able to take this cat drake seriously. he sons himself on the regular.
