Im sorry, I cant get on this Electronica hype train.

This is not impressive at all.

  • sega says:

what’s not impressive? his lyrics? lol dude has niice bars. His performance skills aren’t their yet. But dude can rap can’t take that away

  • Sun says:

Well then catch the next train, muthafucka lol!
Me likey. He can actually put a coherent idea thru in a rap, that is some rare shit that I wanna hype up all day!

First show jitters. Not a big deal.

  • Conscious says:

It’s a live show not a record. Stage performance is important.

  • Delgodo says:

The dude has a mind, a purpose and a knowledge of a lot of things inside & out of his circumference. He is able to put it into a cohesive context. That deserves several listens to fully comprehend. Plus he rhymes better than the majority of these ringtone rappers that pollute our airwaves.

    Hop of his nuts please.

He’s just boring to ME, more power to you and yours.

He’s MF Doom with better connects and no mask.

  • Jai Nitai says:

Jay’s real nice with it..after getting my hands
on some of his music I became a fan real
quick..he’s got too much skill to deny.

Show wise…man this was one show in front
of a big crowd that doesn’t know his music..What
do you expect. You do what you can..it is what it is.
I’m sure if it was a more intimate environment it would’ve
    had a different outcome.

  • happen to catch the show says:

happen to be in new york visiting my girl and had a chance to catch the show never heard of the dude until that night…. lyrically my man was the fucken “truth” best lyrical shit i’ve heard in years….. get past the talk shit and he chewin up 90% of rappers you put in front of him the people around me was hangin on everyword then he lost the people for a minute telling a story but got’em right back when he started spittin… for a dude i never heard of i was impressed…if this was his first performance he gettin ready to turn the rap world upside down with a little more seasoning

  • Dante says:

I can’t get on the hype train either. SO what he can spit. So can canibus.

  • Melaninwater says:

He did not bomb. Some of y’all are tripping for real. Give a brother a chance… maybe a smaller club next time he’s in town. Some rappers I know have been saying that the internet is hurting hip-hop, well they’re right.
One thing is to exercise the right to write about things (in the world) from our perspective. To pulverize the space saying dude bombed is another… Jay lived in the streets for a while, he’s not at all accustomed to the lifestyle he’s getting into. Don’t be mad at Erykah, or Just or Nasir for this… the man of the hour seems to be making his own decisions.

Two terms for y’all to study: ARTIST DEVELOPMENT and ARTISTIC ENLIGHTENMENT.

  • Steamboat says:

I was very close to the stage…
Ok i couldn’t understand dude cause the speakers (BASS) drowned out his voice. His Performance was horrible because his music selections were all over the place. He came out wearing a Barack Obama mask. To symbolize what i have no idea. The crowd booed him so much that Eryka Badu had to come onto the stage to try to sing a hook.
Seriously, she ran onto the stage and tried to save the show.
She was brought some excitement to the area at the point until she got pissed at someone and threw water on them. Jay was getting no respect when he was trying to perform.
He stopped like 3-4 songs and tried to explain why he was here “mos def is crazy” “I’ll eat 50 cent” “you should see where lil wayne grew up”. He said Nas was coming out. That didnt happen. It got so bad that someone shouted out “put the Obama mask make on!” Dude really picked it up off the floor and tried to rhyme again with it on.
He singlehandedly almost destroyed Mos Def concert.
