Austin tastemaker, DJ and producer DJ CHICKEN GEORGE will be joining us at SoundLib this week, and he’ll be bringing heat. Dude is one of my favorite DJs. He used to put me on to a lot of good, soulful music back in the day when we were both in Houston doing the Soular Grooves thing.
Chicken George calls his style “Jazztronica” — an amalgamation of jazz, soul, eclectic bass and everything in between. He’s put out two records on the Stockholm-based label Swedish Brandy: The Swed.u.s.h Connection 1 The Swed.u.s.h Connection 1 & 2 2. Aside from being passionate about music, dude is really skilled on the decks.
Plus, he’s Trini, and I always got love for my Caribbean people.
