The original material I heard from Jay Elec, like Sunshine, and DMT, Voodoo man, etc I wasn’t feeling, In fact I had no Idea why all this hype was surrounding duke……
my 1st judgmental thought was he was A spaced out version of killa priest and just never payed him anymore attention…..
When I heard, Exhibit A…….. I went nuts! I really loved the track to death and it still is in heavy rotation….. I then heard…..Love Czars II, the SA-RA jawn, feat. Jay Elec and ta’ raach… and then I really was feeling him, the song is classic, tho the way the song is mixed, and how they have the vocals doubled up sounds like a bad mixdown, Jay Elec’s verse is classic…………………..
After the 50th time listening to Exhibit C, I gotta say, The Hype makes sense………….. From his 1st word to his last he blew me away……. He is not my favorite emcee, but I must say with the proper production, and if he keeps inking verses of this caliber then the world is in store for A dope dope dope album when he finally decides the time is right to release one!!!
It’s crazy how a beat, or A sudden spark of drama , inspiration turns a thought into a verse which ends up on a track that is forever immortalized!
