Why are we such big fans of lists? Who knows. A few days ago, Big Mon and I were sitting around talking about our favorite posse cuts of all time, and happened to come up with a list. That list became a podcast. And that podcast now becomes a topic of discussion. Feel free to chime in with your favorites, what we missed, should have included, etc.
We tried to give it some structure, so we excluded features (De La featuring Common – “The Bizness”); cuts by collectives (Wu-Tang), or anything by Dr Dre, since all of his are effectively compilations. We made an exception for “Scenario”.
You’ll enjoy this one!

And to me a posse cut has to constitute more than 3 emcees, so 4 would be better
And it doesn’t count as a posse cut if you are a 2 or 3 member group and you have a featured artist on the track
Posse meaning deep and diverse across the board
Otherwise I may have included this:
Kool Moe Dee, Chuck D, KRS-1 – Rise & Shine
Great track, but not considered a posse cut . . .
Any more posse cuts . . .
i was going to mention rise& shine and one for love too. but also off “panther” sdtk we can’t forget about the ladies “Freedom” and let me know what ya’ll think about this :Day One” D.I.T.C. the group itself was never fully official so that is up in the air. And dare i not forget “When We Were Kings” ATCQ, Fugees, John Forte’ and dare i say it…………….. th infamous BUSTA RHYMES. Damien if you do that discussion on who killed collabs as a guest BUSTA will probably have to be excluded from about 60% of most peoples answers. He was killin it from the early to mid-90’s. Vibin’ (remix) too Boyz to Men feat. Method man, Criag Mack, Treach & BUSTA RHYMES………
My #1 has to be Big Daddy Kane – Show & Prove feat. Scoob, Sauce, Shyhiem, Jay Z & ODB
did yall miss EPMD, Headbanger? how about the Kotix posse cut featuring half of the Texas underground?
Mav – they’re both on there
this is just a real good topic
Good looks on Dont Curse (Heavy D, BDK…), here are a few more that could’ve gotten a mention:
Big Daddy Kane ft. Busta Rhymes & Q-Tip – Come On Down
Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Busta, Jay-Z, Kanye West – Get By (Remix)
Preemo, Nas, KRS-One, Rakim, Kanye West – Classic
What about some of those eminem joints (i know i know classic white boy shout out, but what can i say hahah)
Damn, y’all are going to think i’m some sorta kanye stan, but what about this way by dilated ft. john legend and mr. west?
how about the Bahamadia joint 3 the Hard Way?
I stand by my complaint regarding The Grand Finale not being included, ditto for Bring it On.
And for that “guest shot” list, Damien is going to pull about 80 Busta Rhymes appearances, guaranteed.
“The Anthem” Sway & King Tech FT ….EVERYBODY…lol (RZA, Eminem, Tech N9ne, Xzibit, Pharoahe Monch, Jayo Felony, Chino XL, KRS-One and Kool G. Rap.)
